Study unit 2 Listening and Responding to Music ·    What new things did you become aware of when working through this study unit’s content? Firstly, I just want to say how very entertaining and fun this study unit was. I really enjoyed the music and the activities. Everything within study unit 2 was new to my knowledge. I have actually learned so much. It was very interesting to learn why we would move to the beat and how we unconsciously just start moving. I never knew how to figure out the meter in music, within the first video of Mrs. Rina Francis showing me how to do this using a ball and wooden spoons, I was surprised that I could actually understand this and know what she was talking about. So interesting and I really enjoyed this. To be honest I was really not looking forward to this study unit. I am really not very musical and probably tone-deaf too. But pleasantly surprised that I was able to manage and understand most of it. This gave me new confidence regardi...

Part 1: · How are you feeling; how has your week been? – in general or just with regard to your studies I am feeling slightly overwhelmed, which is a normal feeling for me to have in the beginning of a new semester until I know what, where and when, other than that I am feeling hopeful and kind of excited and nervous to see what will happen next, it is a very accomplishing feeling achieving goals that I set out for myself. My week has been busy, trying to set up a routine around the new semester. The rest of the subjects this semester is a bit stressful so I hope that LSKM can give a bit of fun and joy in between the craziness which is a distance student/part time study/work in between studies kind of life… Individual reflection 1.Would you please describe your confidence in your current knowledge and skills to teach music through movement in the Foundation Phase as you start your LSKM 221 journey? In your answer, please also refer to your confidence to integrate music in...

Self Introduction

💚 H i everyone, my name is Lindie Claassens, I am from a small town in Kwa-Zulu Natal called Richards Bay. A reason why I would like to become a foundation phase teacher is that I feel this is the age and stage of a child’s life that can easily be overlooked and deemed as less important, and that is the total opposite of what it is, I want to give children a good foundation and set them up with positivity towards school and learning, if the foundation is wrong all will crumble, I just want to make a little bit of a difference, but so does everyone. My passion is definitely language, I love learning languages and encouraging children to have a positive outlook on   learning a second or third language. I feel excited about LSKM 211 and a little bit anxious too as I am not sure what to expect and hope to be able to juggle everything, the start of a semester is always daunting and scary. I am not sure what to expect from this module, just hope it is fun and not as stressful.
